Ken Smy with a nice cod of 28lb caught a few years ago. Ken worked with us as one of our skippers for several years on the Frederick William. I still see Ken and we reminess about some of the days that he had at sea. I remember one day when we were antifouling on the slip at the ferry. We were trying to beat the tide so that the boat could br launched on high water. After carefully cutting in a bit of the waterline Ken decided to take a step backwards to admire his work forgetting that we were working off boards, needless to say he fell into the water with the can of blue antifoul on his head.
He waded out of the water covered from head to toe looking like the monster from the blue lagoon. He wasent fased when we hosed him down and chucked a bottle of terps at him, they were good old days when folks just got on with things. We still have a good laugh about this today
The suns shining, the winds dropped out and in the west, the fish are waiting to be caught and theres some live bait at the moment plus all the usual frozen baits today . Hopefully things will be back to normal from today onwards which is looking to be a cracking day at the moment.
We have some places on Tracy Jane for this coming Saturday 22nd feb so if you fancy a trip please call me ASAP.
